Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE release date history
The Galaxy Tab FE is a fairly new addition to Samsung’s series of tablets. It was first introduced with the Galaxy Tab S7 series, which was quite well received as a toned-down budget version of Samsung’s pricey flagship tablet. Which probably prompted the company to continue the “Fan Edition” series of tabs.

According RGcloudSSamsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy Tab S8 FE at this year’s second Unpacked event in August. The tech giant is likely to reveal the budget Tab S8 FE alongside the flagship Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. Other reports also point to the release date of the devices in August or September.
Last year, the Galaxy S7 FE was also unveiled at this event, which bolstered the chances that the Tab S8 FE would be revealed at the same event.

It’s still too early to say anything definitive about the specs of Samsung’s next budget tablet. We can paint a clearer picture with more leaks and tips in the days to come. But this is what we have at the moment.
The Galaxy Tab S8 FE will reportedly launch with an LCD panel, not an AMOLED or OLED one. The resolution and refresh rate of the panel remain unknown at the moment. However, we have gathered that Samsung went with the LCD panel to reduce cost. If Samsung supplements the LCD panel with a Wacom digitizer, the pen experience will still be excellent.
Aside from the panel, we only know that Samsung has assigned the model number ‘SM-X506B’ to the Galaxy Tab S8 FE, where the ‘B’ indicates a European variant. A GeekBench test also revealed that the MediaTek Kompanio 900T chipset will power the Tab S8 FE. It is a 6mm processor, very similar to the MediaTek Dimensity 900.

Samsung is selling a case/keyboard accessory with the Galaxy Tab S7 FE. It’s called the Book Cover Keyboard, but it lacks a trackpad. Unfortunately, you have to buy this separately; it doesn’t come in the box.
