The Shokz OpenRun Pro headphones are an excellent choice for fitness enthusiasts looking for high-quality headphones that don’t compromise situational awareness. Shokz OpenRun Pro Fit and comfort
One of the most impressive features of the Shokz OpenRun Pro headphones is their design and comfort. The fully wraparound titanium band and frame provide a secure and comfortable fit, even during intense workouts. The headphones’ open-ear design ensures all-day comfort and lets you stay aware of your surroundings. This is especially important for outdoor activities where hearing the sounds around you can be critical to your safety. During testing I was able to listen to music and still be aware of my surroundings.

During my testing period, I was also happy to see how secure the headphones felt on my head. I didn’t feel like I needed to adjust them at any point. However, I did encounter some difficulties when wearing the headphones with a hat. The wraparound design of the earcups made it a bit difficult to wear a hat over them. Depending on the type of hat, it might be a bit troublesome to match the headphones with some winter hats. Also, I would like to point out that the headphones are not comfortable to wear while trying to relax on a sofa. Personally, I wouldn’t use these headphones for any reason other than listening to music during workouts while also being aware of my surroundings. In my opinion, that is the purpose of these headphones. If you’re looking for something more than that, these headphones may not be for you.

Adjustable volume settings and multi-function features are another standout feature of these headphones. Volume controls located directly on the earcups let you find the perfect balance between enjoying your music and staying aware of traffic and other sounds around you. This feature came in especially handy when running with friends and my furry companion. When I was solo, I kept the volume between 60% and 75%. This provided a perfect mix of music and situational awareness while running through the woods. The only time I had the volume at 100% was when I was talking to someone who had me on their car phone system.

Of course, sound quality is paramount when it comes to headphones, and the Shokz OpenRun Pro headphones deliver crystal-clear audio. Its 9th generation bone conduction technology transmits audio through the cheekbones, providing a deep and immersive listening experience. Added bass boosters bring incredible depth to your music, making every beat feel even more punchy. I was impressed with the sound quality of these headphones and found the volume to be consistent and of high quality. In addition, Shokz offers a phone app that allows users to adjust equalizer settings to get the perfect sound for every listener.
Shokz OpenRun Pro Battery Life
Battery life is another important consideration, and the OpenRun Pro headphones don’t disappoint in this regard. With up to 10 hours of music and calls on a single charge, these headphones are perfect for even the longest training sessions. Plus, the Quick Charge feature provides up to 1.5 hours of battery life in just five minutes, so you can always be ready to go, no matter how busy your schedule is. While testing, I got over 8.5 hours of battery life before needing to recharge. This time was spent listening to music and talking on the phone. Perhaps even more impressive than the battery life is the fast charging capability. Just 5 minutes of charging provides enough juice to run the headphones for 1.5 hours. I was able to verify the charging capacity of the headphones when I charged them in my truck for 20 minutes and the battery status indicated full charge. The charger has a strong magnetic end that snaps directly into the earphones, making the connection instant and secure.

Durability is essential when it comes to exercise headphones, and OpenRun Pro headphones are built to last. They’re IP55 waterproof, which means they can withstand runs in the rain, sweaty rides, and other tough conditions. The titanium band and frame also provide a secure, long-lasting fit, even during the most intense workouts. I wore these headphones on 1+ hour stationary bike rides where I was completely drenched in sweat. I also wore them while running outside while it was snowing. During testing, I had no issues with water affecting the performance of the headphones.
