There are several reasons why a person may want to factory reset their Google Nest Hub. Perhaps the most obvious is that they will upgrade to a Google Nest Hub Max and no longer need their Nest. A factory reset would allow you to sell your old hub or give it to a friend or family member, without your account being tied to that device.
Another reason to reboot involves security. Considering the number of data breaches and device hacks that have been in the news over the past year, you’re understandably wary of any device that can potentially be hacked or otherwise share your data. Factory resetting your hub would erase all your information from the device.
You can also manage a reset if you constantly encounter technical problems. If the device isn’t working properly, for example, it’s not responding to questions or not connecting to your Wi-Fi network, then a good old-fashioned factory reset may be necessary.

Ready, set, reboot
Unfortunately, you can’t use the app or voice controls to factory reset the Google Nest Hub, but there is an easy alternative. To reset the Google Nest Hub, all you need to do is press and hold both volume buttons on the right side (back of the screen) for 10 seconds with two fingers. That is the only step. The device will automatically reboot and then you are done. If you ever can’t remember how to do this, you can simply say, “Hey Google, factory reset,” and the wizard will tell you how to perform a factory reset.
