Many are hostile, like trolls, but there are a number of beasts that you can catch. The Diricawl somewhat resembles the extinct dodo, only tinted green and orange. However, just like a dodo, it can seem impossible to find one. If you’re on the hunt for a Diricawl in Hogwarts Legacythis is how you can find and catch one.
Where to find Diricawl
Diricawl are flightless birds, so luckily, you won’t need to search the skies for them. They live in burrows, with five scattered around the map that you can visit.
Step 1: The nearest Diricawl lair is northwest of Keenbridge in some ruins. There are some enemies nearby, so approach with caution.
Step 2: A second lair is located at the southwestern tip of the Poidsear coast. If you fast travel to the South Poidsear Coast Floo Flame, you simply need to head west on the map to where the river ends.
Step 3: A third hideout is a bit southwest of Marunweem Floo Flame along the coast.
Stage 4: The last two hideouts are on the Clagmar coast. From Clagmar Castle Floo Flame, one is on the north shore and the other on the west.
How to Catch Diricawl
Once you’ve found these sneaky birds, the real trick will be catching one. Here are the tricks you need to know.
Step 1: Equip your Nab Sack, Glacious, and Arrest Momentum spells.
Step 2: Cast any of these spells on the Diricawl from a distance. If you get too close, they will teleport away.
Step 3: Once immobilized, get in close and use your Nab Sack. You’ll need to fill four meters in the bag to fully capture them, but you should be able to if you’re fast enough after casting any of those spells.
What do the Diricawls give you?
Saving and caring for Diricawl in the Vivarium will reward you with, you guessed it, Diricawl Feathers. These are rare materials that you need to upgrade your equipment once you reach a certain level. They are also needed to create a ton of level two traits. While you can’t ride this specific beast, it’s worth tracking them down for a source of these important upgrade materials.
