The Aspire Vero is Acer’s first notebook made from post-consumer recycled plastics and ships in packaging made from recycled materials that are also 100% recyclable. You might think that an eco-friendly laptop might look cheap or boring, but that’s not the case with the Aspire Vero either. This is an attractive green laptop, with a sturdy, textured chassis highlighted with small yellow spots. Inside, it provides an older 11th-gen Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. The 15.6-inch screen has Full HD resolution. Bundled with a laptop sleeve, it’s discounted on Amazon right now and retails for a very reasonable $510 that’ll leave more green in your wallet.

Acer knows how to put together good laptops at low prices. The Aspire 5 is one of our favorites for the home, and it’s portable enough for the occasional trip, too. It is a 15.6-inch laptop with a Full HD resolution screen, powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 5000 Series CPU and 16GB of RAM. You also get a 512 GB solid state drive. Although it has a previous generation AMD CPU, it offers double the RAM and solid-state storage space of what is normally found at this price.

Dell’s latest 14-inch convertible features a modern all-metal design that blurs the line between the company’s premium XPS lineup and its conventional Inspiron machines. And it’s available in a rainbow of colors. This discount model has what Dell calls a Pebble Green chassis. Inside, it supplies AMD’s octa-core Ryzen 7 5825U CPU along with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. The CPU is a generation behind AMD’s current Ryzen 6000 series, but it should be plenty powerful along with 16GB of memory for most users. The efficient U-series chip should also help with battery life.

MSI’s version of the MacBook features a slim and elegant aluminum casing. This model is $200 off at Best Buy and features a 12th-gen Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. It also features Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics, which don’t turn the laptop into a gaming machine, but do provide a small performance boost for media editing compared to an integrated GPU typically found at this price point. The 14-inch display features Full HD resolution, but has the old widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio instead of the taller 16:10 ratio that gives you more room to work. Still, this is a thin, light and strong laptop and a great deal at its current asking price.

Aside from the new M2 chip, the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro remains largely unchanged from the previous iteration. It’s now the only laptop in Apple’s updated lineup to have the Touch Bar you usually don’t like. It also lacks the new MagSafe charger and offers the same two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports for charging and peripherals. The price remains the same as the previous series. The base model costs $1,299 and has 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. The upgraded $1,499 model doubles the SSD to 512GB. You can save $200 at Best Buy right now on the reference model. Most 17-inch laptops are gaming monsters. The LG Gram 17 is neither a gaming laptop nor a monster. It lacks dedicated graphics to handle 3D gaming, but it’s just 0.7-inches thin and weighs less than 3 pounds, making this 17.3-inch desktop replacement about the same weight as your typical desktop ultraportable. 13.3 inches. The spacious 2560 x 1600 pixel display features an 11th generation Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM and integrated Intel Iris Plus graphics. You also get a roomy 1TB SSD for storage. The processor is a bit outdated at the moment, but it should still be powerful enough for general use. You can save over $700 on this LG Gram right now at Amazon.
