How to keep track of all those Amazon Prime perks like cheap prescriptions

Amazon Prime has grown by leaps and bounds since its launch in 2005: the subscription plan for two-day shipping has added streaming video and music, additional discounts, package tracking features, and a new monthly prescription drug service called RxPass.

If you’re finding it hard to keep up with all of Amazon’s benefits, you’re not alone. The company has so many features in the program that it has created a new About Amazon Prime website where customers can get all the latest Prime news as well as an overview of all available features.

If you are not yet a member and are thinking of sign up for an Amazon Prime account or you don’t know much about all the included features, read on for some ways you can get the most out of membership. All your prescriptions for $5 a month

Announced in early 2023, Amazon RxPass could be a good deal for those with monthly prescriptions. For just $5 a month (in addition to your existing Prime membership fee), you can get all of your qualifying drugs covered, and they’ll be delivered to your door. That means if you currently pay more than $5 a month for your drugs combined, this extra subscription could save you money. If you are already a Prime member, sign up for RxPass in the Amazon Pharmacy section.

You can get free same-day delivery on qualifying items

If there’s a product you want right away, you can see if it’s available for delivery the same day you order. To check a product’s eligibility, look for delivery marked “Prime FREE Same-Day” while shopping. Please note that your order will need to contain more than $35 of qualifying items. If not, you will have to pay a small fee.

Amazon delivers from morning to night, so you won’t have to worry about getting your order in at 3am. to see if you are eligible.

Alexa offers additional discounts when you buy with an Echo

You can use your Amazon Echo to ask “Alexa, what are my deals?” at any time. Alexa will then share exclusive Prime deals and you’ll have the option to add the item to your cart, buy it now, or move on to the next deal.

Schedule convenient shipping dates for packages

Everyone knows about Amazon’s free two-day shipping, but another option is choose a delivery date during checkout. It’s called Amazon Day, and it’s useful if there’s a specific day you know someone will be home to vouch for packages, especially if it’s something expensive that you don’t want to risk leaving unattended.

If you order multiple items on different days, you may receive them the same day, as long as they are eligible for this offer.

Use your Amazon Echo to track packages

if you have a Amazon Echo of any kindyou can use it to track your orders.

Just say “Alexa, where’s my package?” and your Echo will tell you where it is, who it is for, and when it will arrive. Once your order has been delivered, the Echo’s ring light will blink yellow and if you have the Echo Show, the delivery notification will appear on the screen.

Shop early access deals before non-Prime members

If something you’ve been looking at says “Prime Early Access,” as a Prime member you can purchase that offer 30 minutes before non-Prime members. However, you will still have to compete with other Prime members who are interested in the product before it sells out.

Have Amazon deliver your package inside your home

When you know you won’t be home for a while and you have a shipment on the way, it’s much safer for an Amazon employee to leave your items inside your home to prevent theft.

For home delivery, you will need a Key Compatible Smart Lock and a (optional) Amazon cloud camera. The Amazon driver will send you a notification when he has arrived at your house and ask you to open the door. Amazon will verify that the package is in the correct direction and that the driver is near the door, then it will turn on the Amazon Cloud Cam and unlock the door.

If you’re careful with letting a complete stranger into your house, keep in mind that you will also receive notifications throughout the process. Please note that you can choose to block delivery access to your home, for example, if you know you will be home during that time.

You can also have Amazon packages delivered to your garage

Send gifts to other Prime members, even without addresses

An Amazon Prime feature allows you to send someone a gift, even if you don’t have his address. For example, if you want to send something to a coworker for her birthday or holidays, but you don’t know her address, you can still send a gift. But there’s a catch: That person must also have a Prime account, and they need your phone number or email address associated with the account.

Just keep in mind that not all items on Amazon are eligible.

Share the benefits of Amazon Prime with your family

If you have another adult living in your home, like a significant other or friend, you can share your Prime membership with them. You’ll still be able to keep your personal accounts separate, but you’ll both have access to the same Prime benefits.

You can also share your account with up to four teens and up to four children in your household. While they will have their own logins, you can still manage their profiles.
