Fortnite has had vaults for a while now, but each season tends to move the locations around and change how you get the cards needed to open them. Chapter 4 Season 2 has done this once again, requiring you to take out a boss to earn a keycard and get your hands on that sweet loot. Here are all the Vault locations in Chapter 4 Season 2 and how to open them.
How to open vaults in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2
Opening vaults in Chapter 4 Season 2 will require you to get your hands on a vault card, except for the Loot Island one, which only requires you to use two standard keys. The Vault Keycard is only obtained by defeating the Highcard season boss. He spawns near the vault locations we’ve listed below and is relatively easy to defeat as long as you come prepared with full shields and a decent amount of ammo.
Once you’ve obtained the Vault Key Card, you’ll be able to head to the nearby vault, which will contain a wide variety of healing items, high-tier weapons, and more. If you can’t find the vault, just equip the key card and the game will tell you where to go. This will usually mean you’ll have a great chance of acquiring the new mythic version of the Havoc pump-action shotgun, which is an extremely powerful weapon to have at your disposal, especially when paired with Highcard’s Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle, which probably already hooked on defeating the boss.
All Vault Locations in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2
So far, we have found four vaults in total in Season 2. There is one in brutal stronghold [1] located in the snow area of the map to the north. Another one is in shattered slabs [2] in the western segment of the map where everything is autumn themed. The third location is in the new mega city [3] POIs in the southeast section of the map where you’ll probably have a good time doing quests and such this season.
The fourth and last vault we have found is in booty island, which is a POI that is split into random locations on the map and will require you to ride a zip line to access the area. However, as mentioned above, this vault is unique in that you’ll have to use two normal keys to open the door, instead of one vault card.
