Well the title is a bit misleading. A customer told me that he had problems with my “Building Creator” extension. He said that “sometimes when I open SketchUp, I get a message that SketchUp is badly damaged.” I told him it looked like a SketchUp problem rather than my extension and told him to send me a screenshot of the error the next time it happens. When I logged into his computer, everything worked fine even after closing and reopening SketchUp several times. This is a few hours later and now he sent me the screenshot below. It seems to be a license issue, but it’s a weird bug, and he said SketchUp works fine, he’s just annoyed by the bug. This is Windows 11 with SketchUp 2020.
Any ideas? Should I ask you to contact SketchUp support?
This message only appears when adding a classic license. Once a license is added, you won’t have to do it again. Were you activating on another machine?
You see this when you open SketchUp. You have been using this computer for quite some time. Would this be the message you would get if activated on too many machines?
Activation of the classic license only takes place onceafter that, use a sketchup.lic file to validate that it’s saved on the machine (so no need to contact the servers, again)
Unless you are actually trying to add the license, that message may appear.
It may be that you already have a license (activated) for 2021 and are trying to activate 2020 on a new machine.
My license server for my extension shows that you have been using my extension on this computer since 4-21-21. I don’t think anything has changed with the install since then, but I’ll check with him.

This SketchUp Pro license is simply broken.
You may see this error if the SketchUp license file on your system has been corrupted or edited. Delete the license file and then re-add the license in SketchUp normally from the welcome screen at startup.
Note: This error can also occur if the system clock is disturbed by more than one calendar day.
