AVITYa provider of workplace technology and space utilization solutions, has announced the launch of its new line of sensors designed to revolutionize the industry with their exceptional accuracy and efficiency.
The new VuAI sensors feature advanced technology and algorithms to deliver unprecedented accuracy in real-time data collection and analysis. These sensors are able to detect not only occupancy and use, but also measure even the smallest variations in temperature, light, noise and humidity. The new VuAI sensors provide customers with the most holistic, accurate and reliable information of any sensor on the market.
“We are delighted to announce the launch of our new VuAI system,” says Brad Johnson, CEO of AVUITY. “Our team has worked tirelessly to develop a product that sets a new industry standard, with up to three times the detection area of our previous sensors and twice the battery life. We believe these sensors will be a game changer for customers who require the highest level of accuracy and efficiency.”
AVUITY’s new sensors give businesses a lower cost of entry to get the data they need to make informed decisions about their office space and real estate footprint quickly. The sensors are also easy to install and operate, giving customers seamless integration into their existing building management systems and processes. They even have the ability to be converted to Power Over Ethernet (POE) and daisy-chainable, giving customers the ability to customize the system to their needs.
“We didn’t stop at the sensor, we’re also working to increase the capabilities of our gateways,” says Ian Iliff, director of IoT and artificial intelligence. “We will be launching the new gateway in the second quarter and, together with the new VuAI sensors, we are confident that this technology will help our customers achieve their goal of optimizing their real estate footprint.”
With this upgrade, the VuAI sensor is capable of understanding real-time occupancy and utilization of more than 1,000 square feet when installed on a 9-foot ceiling, independently monitoring utilization of 20 individual desktops with a single sensor, and reporting on both assets. and passive occupancy (often referred to as “signs of life”), all while maintaining a battery life of between 4 and 10 years. The expanded coverage area will allow customers to reduce the number of sensors needed by more than 30%, resulting in materially lower costs related to hardware and installation.
Commenting on how this will affect current and future customers, Brad Johnson says, “The wider coverage area will significantly reduce the total cost of the sensor for customers. We are preparing to develop our international presence as existing clients demand to implement the new sensor across their entire global real estate portfolio.”
AVUITY will also offer customers the option to power the VuAI with Power over Ethernet (“POE”). They expect customers to implement the POE option in scenarios where changing batteries is impractical, such as ceiling heights greater than 20 feet. Whether powered by battery or POE, the VuAI provides the same great data with the full AI back-end. The versatility of the new VuAI sensors will allow AVUITY to cover all office scenarios.
